1. Who We Are
SPOX was born from a simple idea: great style and quality photography should not require a brand-new price tag. We are a small, passionate team based in Johns Island, South Carolina (just outside historic Charleston). Every day, we hunt for, inspect, photograph, and list pre-owned bags and cameras that still have years of life left in them. We are not a massive corporation or a faceless dropshipper. We are real people who love leather patina, film grain, worn-in canvas, and the story that comes with every used item. When you buy from SPOX, you are buying from a business that physically touches, tests, and vouches for every single product.
2. What We Sell
-
Used bags: Vintage leather satchels, pre-owned designer crossbodies, canvas backpacks, briefcases, camera bags, and totes. Brands we love include (but are not limited to) Coach, Fossil, Jansport, Eastpak, Samsonite, and hidden no-brand gems with amazing craftsmanship. Every bag is cleaned, inspected for structural integrity (zippers, straps, clasps), and photographed honestly – including all signs of wear.
-
Used cameras: Film cameras (Canon AE-1, Nikon FM2, Pentax K1000, etc.), vintage digital cameras (early Canon Powershot, Sony Cyber-shot, Lumix point-and-shoots), instant cameras (Polaroid, Fujifilm Instax), and camera accessories (lenses, bags, straps, batteries where available). We test basic functionality: shutter fires, battery compartment clean, lens free of major fungus/haze, light meter responds (if applicable). We do not sell "untested" items unless explicitly marked "As-Is / For Parts."
3. Why "SPOX"?
The name SPOX is short for "Secondhand Pieces of X" – where X represents the unknown treasure waiting to be discovered. We believe that every used bag has carried someone's daily life, and every used camera has captured someone's memories. When you buy from SPOX, you are giving that item a second chapter. Plus, "spox" sounds fast, reliable, and easy to remember – just like our 2-hour average email response time and 1-2 day handling.
4. Our Location & Operations
We operate entirely from 3948 Milgray Lane, Johns Island, South Carolina 29455, United States. This is not a retail storefront (we do not offer local pickup), but it is a real warehouse where we:
-
Receive incoming used items from local sellers and trade-ins
-
Inspect and clean each bag and camera under bright lighting
-
Test cameras with batteries and film (where possible)
-
Photograph items from multiple angles, including close-ups of any wear
-
Pack orders with care (bubble wrap for cameras, tissue paper for bags)
-
Ship worldwide via UPS, USPS, and FedEx – Standard Shipping is always free
You are welcome to write to us at this address (for returns only with prior authorization). You are not welcome to show up unannounced – we are busy inspecting your next treasure.
5. Our Values
Honesty above all: We photograph every scratch, scuff, and sign of wear. If a camera has a sticky shutter or a bag has a broken zipper, we say so in the listing. No Photoshop fluff, no misleading angles.
Fast support, real humans: Monday to Sunday, 8am to 11:30pm – our team answers emails in 2 hours on average. No chatbots. No automated replies that ignore your question. You will talk to a person who understands used gear.
Sustainable fashion & tech: The most eco-friendly bag is the one already made. The greenest camera is the one kept out of a landfill. By buying used from SPOX, you are reducing waste, conserving resources, and avoiding the environmental cost of new manufacturing.
Fair returns, no games: We offer a strict but clear 7-day inspection period (see Return & Refund Policy). If we made a mistake (undisclosed major damage, wrong item), we fix it. If you changed your mind, we are transparent about restocking fees. No hidden surprises.
6. The SPOX Promise (Our Guarantee to You)
When you click "Buy" on SPOX, here is what you can expect:
-
What you see is what you get: Our photos show the actual item you will receive, not stock photos.

7. Our Story – How SPOX Started
The founder of SPOX (a lifelong thrifter and film photography nerd) kept seeing the same problem: great used bags and cameras sitting in estate sales, flea markets, and online listings with terrible photos, zero testing, and rude sellers. Meanwhile, big retailers charge hundreds of dollars for "vintage inspired" new items that fall apart in a year. So in early 2026, SPOX was launched from a spare room in Johns Island. The first inventory? A 1990s leather camera bag (sold within 2 hours) and a Canon AE-1 Program with a stuck light meter (sold as "For Parts" to a repair hobbyist). Within months, we outgrew the spare room and moved to the Milgray Lane warehouse. Today, SPOX ships worldwide, but we have not lost our small-business soul – every email is answered by a person who genuinely cares.
8. Meet the Team (Briefly)
Alex (Founder & Head Inspector): The one who tests every camera shutter and smells every bag for mustiness. Alex has a background in vintage retail and analog photography.
Jordan (Customer Support Lead): The reason we answer emails in 2 hours. Jordan works evenings and weekends so you never feel stranded.
Taylor (Warehouse & Shipping): The master of bubble wrap and box tape. Taylor makes sure your bag or camera arrives looking exactly like the photos – no shifting, no crushing.
Casey (Photography & Listings): The person who takes 15+ photos of every single item, including the imperfections. Casey believes that lighting and honesty go hand in hand.

Q: Where do you get your used bags and cameras?
A: We source from local estate sales, trade-ins from customers, online auctions, and partnerships with thrift stores. Every item is inspected before listing. We do not sell stolen goods – we keep chain-of-custody records.
